Advice needed please.  Today someone thought they'd do me a favour and pull up the few weeds in my front garden growing from the bricks along the house, still unsure how that ended in my flower bed but I now have a Lilly thats snapped in half that was only around a 4 inch newly sprouted one, its done for the year isn't it ?Advice needed please. Also had an ornamental flowering grass mistaken for a patch of grass and completely ripped out of the ground but it has lots of roots attached and lots of thick roots still in the ground. Again is it likely to recover or do i dig it up completely and replace it. Lost 4 seperate sets of seedlings that were taking well as they were mistaken for baby weeds. I am literally having withdrawl from the garden centre right now, its the first time lockdown has kicked me in the behind.

I'm sure they only did their best, with good intentions. I think they'll put a hose pipe ban this year on to keep people inside this summer. See it as a new project once you can get out again.

Your lily as had it for this year. The ornamental grass will come back if theirs roots. What a bugger.

Was it a child not under control? How upsetting but plants, like us, bounce back.

Thank you to all, i suspected the grass may recover but not for a while. The lilly i think is done for this year but fingers crossed. It wasn't done in malice, just someone with absolutely no experience with plants was removing weeds out of boredom and got carried away. Safe to say my reaction has prevented them ever touching it again.
