Can I ask what people would expect to pay to have someone supply & fit 5 patio slabs please? 1 needs to go around the top opening for a pipe for rodding as it would be in the middle of a slab. Thanks x

£120 minimum. Cost half that on materials alone. Depends on what they charge. I'm a gardener and everything is price work. Easily make £20-£100 in an hour.

@cuirbouilli do you work south Lanarkshire?

I was quoted £650 to do this at side of house. I did it myself and just finished it today and it’s cost approx £150 in materials plus I now have a bad back  never again!

@conductor143 looks great!

Thanks Annemarie, I did the pointing in between today so will look better once the mortar has dried. Before it was gravel and hated trying to wheel the bins over it! Hope you get sorted

@conductor143 thankyou! I only need an extra row added to what's there so I should get it much less than the £450  you've done great though-looks perfectly level etc  well done! Worth the hard work

@conductor143 should of really left a tiny strip for gravel by the house stops the damp but looks good
by (1.3k points)
@hagan878 I thought about doing that but then checked with the builders and was told no need as it’s below the damp proof course. The rest of the patio and block paving to front all done the same way

If you can get the slabs and mix then I would say £20 an hour ! So a couple of hours

@gabriella @bianka he actually said if I supplied my own stuff he would do it for £200. Guys clearly seen a single mum an thought he would be able to make a few quid. Hes seen the new build house an presumed I have spare cash. its council

@arsis that’s a joke! Tell him to do one ! If your local to hungerford my OH would come and do it for you for no where near that !
by (900 points)
@gabriella @bianka I'm in south Lanarkshire in Scotland-I dont think that's anywhere near? Lol thanks tho  I'm so glad I asked other peoples opinions!
by (6k points)
@arsis Depends on what they charge really. I'm around £30-£100 an hour depending on what the job is and I'm just a gardener.

@cuirbouilli I need to sort my prices out lol. I work up to £150 a day depending on what I am doing lol
by (6k points)
@hagan878 Walker All price work mate. Easily make £400 in 4 hours on my own either on hedge work or power washing.
by (980 points)
@cuirbouilli I’m a gardener too and so is my OH we would never charge prices like that ! We both charge between 20/ 25 a hour

@gabriella @bianka wish you lived closer!

@gabriella @bianka that's the difference between hourly work and price work. Once the quote is accepted Dosent matter how long your there for. Plus it's all hedge, shrub, tree work and power washing I do for One-Off work. Maintenance aim for £400 a day between 2 just grass cutting.

This is how it is now. I just want another row plus that odd bit of grass slabbed so I can fit table & chairs without being in the grass

I’d take out those 3 slabs and get a bit of turf for it would look nice
by (900 points)
@notarial I want it bigger so I can have table & chairs to sit out without sinking into grass

I meant to say-let did offer to do the job for £200 if I supplied all the stuff but said he would just get rid of the rodding drain as I dont need it
