Hi all.  We have come into a problem and are wondering if any of you have any ideas what to do.Hi all. We have come into a problem and are wondering if any of you have any ideas what to do. We live in a new build and have recently discovered that half our garden (including our flower bed) has concrete about 8 inches down from the earth. We have bought a shrub but obviously will just die if we plant it. Same with our flower bed. Half the flowers have died. Does anybody have any suggestions or ideas on what we could do?

Perhaps put the shrubs into good-sized frost resistant pots. They’ll last years

We had the same problem. We did big wood boxes and filled them with compost

It's only stones you have to dig them out .

Build plant boxes raised using sleepers and top soil, or use pots otherwise big job to break concrete?

I would made raised borders so you will have the depth to plant in. Maybe just part of it and then use some large pots too. Good luck

Patio over the half the garden with concrete under and plant in the half that doesn't. Put big planters or raised beds on the new patio.

Hi guys thanks for all the help. Would we be able to do a raised flower bed? Our flower bed is against a fence, wouldn’t it rot the wood?
