Advice please.,. The top bit of my lawn is all patchy I have put boxes and boxes of grass seed on last summer and it’s a mess !,,,, think a lot is to do with the birds taking the seed when down , what could I use please to stop this happening and would you suggest new soil maybe ?

I rake soil. grass seed it and put thin layer of soil over it . hides it from birds x

Cover the patch with some fleece to allow it to establish.

Canes and crisscross string or wool over it will keep birds off

Check for chafer grubs maybe ?
