When would it be time to cut the daffs & gone off tulips down to just above ground level?

My tulips didnt flower this year, the leaves came u pop same time as the daffodils but they never flowered any one know why

@baggett984 because you cut the back to early the goodness didnt go back into the bulbs so they grow but grow bling (no flowers)

@pyrenees I didn't cut them. back as I forthwith the daffodils but they came back

I thought you were only meant to cut the flowers off once done and leave the stalks to help the bulb grow for next year.

Don’t cut the leaves. That’s what feeds the bulb for next year.

Wrap them up so the nutrients go back into the bulb.

By that I mean just tie them in a knot and wrap, no need for string or anything.

Just nip off the head and leave the leaves to turn brown and eventually they will disappear. Don't tie them up. I know it might look untidy but it's only for a while. When you take the heads off, the nutrients go back down into the bulb and will assure a good plant next year. Ditto with tulips but you can pull those up and dry them by hanging in a net (some old tights or knee highs) from the shed or garage ceiling. Next year you then have bulbs ready to plant in early spring.

Cut the flowers off, and leave the foliage until it goes brown. Helps the growth for the bulbs next year. x
