Laid artificial grass in my front garden today. But I'm not sure I like it. Is something missing?

It looks amazing, well done  How did you do it, I want to do mine. Was it easy?
by (770 points)
@speer323 well my hubby done it but yes very easy.
by (830 points)
@decalcomania29 did you have to attach it to a wooden frame? Or have you literally just laid it flat?
by (770 points)
@speer323 we have it in the back garden but a big area so there we done it with a wooden frame with sand underneath. The front we literally laid flat

@decalcomania29 Thank you

Make it look better bu having a brush and brushing it in the opposite way that the grass is facing! It’ll bring it up and look darker

Cant beat having real grass if look after it
by (1.1k points)
@saiff168 some people are just unable to though so nothing wrong with this.
by (4.3k points)
@vo3245 Other than the fact it won't breakdown for at least 125 years.
by (1.1k points)
@ravioli some people can’t manage a lawn due to disabilities etc though, what would you suggest ? I take it you have no plastic plant pots or anything in your garden ?

It seems alot of people in this group use fake grass and I was just wondering why is that? Not trying to offend anyone just curious.
by (770 points)
@jeraldjeraldine low maintenance. I have 2 kids and a dog. You can bleach it clean and it does not fade in colour. Wouldn't have reall grass now
by (2k points)
@jeraldjeraldine lazy cant be arsed with a lawnmower
by (770 points)
@mojica52885 Sykes yes and that
by (1k points)
@jeraldjeraldine my daughter has CP, wanted something she could learn to walk on in her walker. It doesn’t get boggy and her wheels don’t get stuck in mud.

I'm not a fan of artificial turf my self but I can see why people have it. I think the problem with this one is it completely fills the area, where as if you had a turfed lawn youd have at least one border breaking it up.
by (1.1k points)
@creation a few on our estate have left their hedges then artificial turfed, you have to look twice.
by (2.3k points)
I'd be tempted to put a small picket fence up at the front and possibly some stones or something between the house and the start of the grass. The more you make the area around it look like it would if it was real grass the less it looks artificial. The plant in the middle helps but the edges need something
by (770 points)
@creation yes I agree
