Excuse the mess, not got much done yet. I'd like to widen the border on the left and grow fruit bushes/trees. Any ideas what is good in clay soil, up the fence? We have dogs next door so have to make sure it's nothing poisonous and not too high (Or easy to keep trimmed down as the dogs like to jump up and say hi) I do have compost from my compost bin that can be dug in when I prepare the ground. X EDIT. I don't want to work on the hill. I'm asking about the fence border, thanks

Grow fruit trees on the slope, they will get more air and sun

@clubwoman the slope is a nightmare to work. It's steeper than it looks and I've fallen down a few times when planting shrubs. I don't want the kids climbing the hill to pick fruit or checking how they are growing so would prefer something in the actual garden. The left side gets a lot of sun (when the sun is actually out) x

@zosi44668 if you tier the slop it will be workable, a bit of hard work but then something you can use

@clubwoman I don't want to tier the slope. It is full of builders rubble and due to the steepness, needs specialist equipment and safety measures. I don't have the time or money for that. I'm happy when all the wild flower and shrubs flower and every year it gets better. I just wanted to know if there is anything that would be ideal along the left fence that the kids can get involved with to grow and pick fruit from x

Fruit trees on the slope but cut some steps into the slope for access?

@khalsa932 the slope is full of builders rubble. We have shrubs growing and wild flower. We don't want to work on the hill again. It's to be left wild for nature. Im asking about the fence/border. X
