Anybody else’s garden full of memories in the way of plants? I have a fern I found in my first house over 30 years ago. It’s moved house 4 times. I have plants I took from cuttings or rescued from friends. Cuttings taken onholidays. When my mum died 18 months ago I went round her garden digging up little roots and taking cuttings before the house was sold . I walk round my garden and each one reminds me of people and places

I had a white rose in my old house to remember all the babies I lost. When we moved from that house, we left it as we wanted a fresh start. We had a happy ending and have a gorgeous girl now and a rose called “ happy times” which a friend gave me. A memory of the happy times with my friend, but also the happiness our daughter has bought us. ❤️

I aways think of my nan's garden when i see rose petals on the grass, when i was younger i mowed the grass around them because i thought they were pretty, my nan saw and rolled her eyes and smiled at me ❤

I have plants which I had from my mother in laws garden, two sisters and my mother’s garden all who have now died. They range from 38 years old to 27 years old. I have moved 8 times and they always go with me. Last time I had to hire a separate van to bring 43 pots to my now home 6 years ago. Where I go they go. They hold memories and love for the people I have lost. Xx

Lots! I live in my grandmas house. And even though we’ve changed everything and done lots of work I’ve still tried to save and move as much as possible. The magnolia was planted when I was born 53 years ago! When we eventually move (will have to downsize at some point) it’s going to be very emotional!  x

I have my Grandmothers climbing rose. It was moved to my Fathers garden in 1980’s then I brought it to mine when he died four years ago. I can’t help but think of them watching me when I care for it. So far it is thriving

Lots of my plants have a history so I love this, all from family and friends gardens. I also collect lots of seeds towards the end of the season whenever I get the chance.

We moved a camellia from my father in laws house before we sold it after he died earlier this year. It’s big, so it was a risk, it looks a bit traumatised but it’s still alive, so fingers crossed!

@pierides2 I was hoping to bring mums as it was in a large pot but when I tried to move it the roots had grown out of the pot and embedded deep into the soil. As it was between two other bushes I had to leave it. Gutted

@pylon yes, we had problems with the roots. Didn’t get all of them, but have pruned it right back and just hope for the best now.
