Advice needed please.  I have a small wet lawn area, at the bottom of a steep wooded slope.Advice needed please. I have a small wet lawn area, at the bottom of a steep wooded slope. Try as we might we cannot get a lawn to grow(neither can any of my neighbours) we have decided to put in a gravel patio area with beds around it. Can anyone tell me what prep I need to do before putting gravel down, as I don't want my garden chairs to sink into it as they have done previously? Thanks in advance

Try planting some willows they are brilliant for sucking up water and put a membrane down before the gravel

Put weed suppressant membrane over a layer of hard packed sand.

Can you put slabs in the bit you want a chair then gravel over the top? Weed membrane under the lot?
