I'm almost certain the answer will be no but here goes. Two weeks ago i extended my lawn a little and laid some turf in an area where I reseeded last year that never really took. At the same time I put some patch magic seed down in some of the bare patches of the lawn and next to the new turf. I've been watering it all every night and the turf is now really long, as Is the rest of the grass apart from the seed which is still rather fine and about 2 inches long. Now the new turf is actually producing grass seed it's got so long and I really think it needs its first trim ( on the highest setting and I've just sharpened the blade) but I'm not sure I should as the seed isnt long enough. Would you give the lawn a trim?

Yes but stay away from the seeded area.

@teraterai58 problem is a few bits are really close to the new turf

@creation not sure than as I'm not sure the seeded peice would cut its most likely to pull it out.

@teraterai58 yeah that's my fear. I think I'll give it a go I can always get more seed if needed

@creation if it's on the high setting it may just go over the top

I have done so with my lawn couldn't leave it any longer, I did cut on the highest setting. The lawn has areas of new turf and about 14000 burn patches from dog urine. Any problems I may topdress the patches with seed mixed with compost.
