Aldi at the min have some car sprays in, they have different colours, would that work. Also what about normal sprays paints with yacht varnish on top of it to protect it?

Yacht varnish would probably cover that stone effect one of u don’t want to change the colour, it’s pretty cheap and a bit goes a long way

You'd be better off using a primer first. I used stone effect spray on helium bottles and it stuck but it did take 2 decent coats. You have to shake it vigorously before using it then do quick 1 seconds sprays repeatedly or nothing comes out. Make sure you keep giving the can a shake as the bits sink to the bottom quickly x
