is right Yacht Varnish is great and not that dear, can pick it up in homebase. Use outdoors if you can tho cos its really fumey

We used to use the little tins of enamel paints for ours but you can use any if you cover them in a clear varnish. Or if you can't be arsed painting them. send them to a charity shop. someone would love them.
