I’m absolutely gutted.  The winds have taken my garden chair and knocked my plant pots off the decking smashing all but one.I’m absolutely gutted. The winds have taken my garden chair and knocked my plant pots off the decking smashing all but one. The pots were my Mams who passed away 2 years ago. Gardening never interested me before and I’d kill a plant just by looking at it when she died I took her pots and bench and painted them up. I also took her Lily plants and decided I’d give gardening a go. Since then I’ve loved trying to do my garden up and it’s a place I feel like my Mam is around. Especially when the butterflies visit  I’m absolutely gutted they’ve all smashed  Any ideas of what I could make with the smashed bits? Something mosaic effect. I can’t bring myself to throw them

U don't need to throw them Get a new solid pot put all the really broken bits at the bottom of the pot, 3/4 fill pot & put the next big bit of pot in middle, then as compost and continue adding bits in a stack. Plant up with little plants rockery one's might be good. Put it in a corner before u start so it's protected I'll see if I can find a picture for u.
by (1.6k points)
Design ur own U can do herbs in it too x Hope this helps u Hun x

You could glue them back together, wrap them in string glue it in place and either leave it or paint the string, that way you still have the pots but won’t see the joins, little tip if your leaving it stringy use a coat of clear varnish to seal and weather proof it.

Lots of people have smashed them up into little pieces and made stepping stones by pressing them into cement in circle shaped like in a cake tin for example

Saw something where they had broken plates, glued them back together and instead of trying to hide the cracks the painted with a gold/ metallic paint looked nicer than it sounds. Then you get to keep the pots.
