I'd probably Danish oil or teak oil it the oils will soak in and preserve and keep the same colour

That's so lovely. And the wood looks nice, too. Danish Oil will keep the wood in good condition and give a natural look. Our window frames are unpainted hard wood and we just brush them over with Danish Oil now and then.
