Hi  I have a non verbal 7 year old autistic son who loves trees. It takes up our evenings and weekends going out looking at them, taking photos, then looking at the photos. you get the picture! Theres 2 palm trees in our town which he loves. one is the typical green colour, the other is a dark pinky red colour. Does anyone know what these are so I can look into buying them for the garden? Thankyou

Possibly cordylines as they come in different colours. You can also get windmill palms which are hardy and have interesting leaves.

@luciferase7416 there is a free app that you can put on your phone which will identify plants for you. You just take a photo and the name and description comes up in seconds. It is called PlantSnap or there is another one called PictureThis.

@rene10 download the plantsnap app and take a picture of them and it will tell you what they are.

That’s so lovely. Can’t help with tree identification but a love of trees is such an asset. Perhaps he could go to a nursery and choose one
