Best answer
Photinia 'Red Robin' is attractive, and evergreen. Cherry laurel is faster, but less attractive. Escallonia is lovely but slower growing. I'd avoid conifers though.

Be quicker putting up fencing panels for privacy.

Laurel is your best bet, but don’t let it grow wild, trim it regularly to the shape you want it. X
