Hi all, my daughter wants to get a gala apple tree and my son wants a cherry tree. Do they grow really big and do they need lots of maintenance? Thanks

They do grow very big, and you have to keep on top of fruit picking otherwise it can cause a lot of mess in the garden. There are patio varieties that can grow in tubs that could be worth looking at, but I've never grown them

Dwarf trees may be the way to go
