Broccoli you plant now indoors, plant out in May, grow on all winter and eat next March. You need at least 6 plants. The main rules are to plant them firmly so they're always rock steady, and to watch for cabbage white eggs and caterpillars. In between them you can grow salad leaves, radish, chard, radish. Try mangetout or any peas, which are easy. I don't grow carrots but try the little round ones and plant some now, next to some scallions as the carrot fly then won't smell them. (Veggie growing is all about pests and manure). Enjoy your eating.
