Hi all looking for some ideas for my back garden please? I'm sick of it looking a state due to the dog constantly running back and too but need a solution that's as cheap as possible and doable asap. I tried putting more turf down last year as a solution but the dog just ruined it.

If you lay a path using pavers down the garden the dog will probably use them more than the grass and the grass will come back. There seems to be a definite line that the dog is using from one end of the garden to the other.

Bit harsh with the shoot comment like but it is usually Dog or Lawn choice like. Artificial grass is best of both worlds

My grass is the same, we fenced it of from the dog last year, still no improvement. Would love a miracle ‍♀️

How about digging a footpath down the middle where the main tread is and putting in a wooden edging either side with bark or shingle in the path?

Our neighbors have gravelled the whole of there garden because of this they have no children tho , we also have a dog so we did a small section at the bottom and he now poopes and pees there also i try to distract him when he starts getting repetitive and running up and down the same space

Fence off for dog, he's bored, take him out he needs to be running 7 hours a day, he needs to round stuff up or get some ducks for him to play with.

Nothing is perfect when you have a fur baby, does it really matter if the lawns patchy? We just throw seed down every month and hope it improves, your doggy looks happy ‍♀️

Dog doesn't understand gardening/is just playing as it thinks it should where it had been shown to do so. You won't need to do anything to the grass if you can find an alternate energy outlet for your dog besides running back and forth in the back yarden. The grass will come back with light seeding but you gotta stay off of it. He looks like a collie/shepherd mix so he needs to be chasing a ball, riding next to you on a bike walk, or playing at a dog park. All viable alternatives to keeping him from being destructive in back. No energy left at home is the goal.
