Hey guys, can I have some advice please? I’m going to sound so stupid  but I’ve got some hanging baskets (coney shaped ones) and don’t have a clue what to put in them? Like which plants actually go in them and which ones are easy to keep alive, and when can I put them in there?!  Thank you! X

Make some holes and put trailing Lobelia halfway down the cone. Some trailing petunias on top, with some begonias in the centre

Trailing geraniums are easy. Make holes in the plastic liner. Fill with compost. Put 3 plants in each basket. Dont plant till may

Trailing surfinas (3 plants will fill a basket). It’s a little too early yet, early -mid may possibly the best time unless frost forecast.

The garden centre or anywhere that sells plants will have different sections for different groups of plants like bedding and and hanging baskets. My favourites are hot pink verbena they look great in the sun. Trailing and upright fuchsias. You can pretty much use any bedding plant in a hanging basket.

You could put some winter flowers in like pansies or violas for a bit of early colour and replace them late spring with summer ones

It's a little bit early in the year but trailing plants always look better in hanging baskets. Trailing begonias, trailing lobelias etc and ivy

I gave up on hanging baskets, they need watering every day, sometimes twice a day.
