This is a Cordyline not a palm tree. This can sometimes happen when the plant is trying to find the sun. Cordylines can be cut at the trunk and grow back so you may want to explore that option.

prob pot bound if it's gone yellow, just take it out of the pot whole and place into a larger pot. Try not to disrupt the roots too much when re potting or putting it into the ground

My cordyline grew massive but then noticed after the winter it had died. Probably because of the position I had put it (in a fenced corner) so hardly got any light and also dried out. I broke the trunk off close to the root. Do you think it has had it now or do you think if watered it would come back to life? Thanks x

Lind did not know it would grow that tall, will use electric saw get bushy part at top first and then see where it goes. I wont mind the shoots, just keep them at bay. Suppose would have to get the roots out to stop the shoots.

Definitely don’t chop it down. Fairy lights or put a support next to it to try and train it back up straight little by little

Pays to keep them shorter, the trunk can't support it's own weight.

Can anyone give me any advice on how to fix my canopy (no idea if it has a real name ) it’s clearly seen better days and I have no issue with sanding it down to repaint but I think it’s just normal timber and I think one of its feet could do with been replaced.
