Some in our local garden centre so could just be planted out. Mine give lots of seedlings round the main plant so I’ve transplanted them round the garden. Lots for free.

I’ve got a corner patch that gets decent sunlight all day and good rain coverage when it’s wet. Would hellebores be happy there? Thinking if I get 3 or 4 and let them self seed the rest?

Mine not supported and in full sun in summer. They die back a little but always come back. Seem to cope ok.

I think I would buy now. You can choose the ones you like better. Just keep them in the pots at home and plant when convenient to you. My mum taught me to garden. She broke lots of rules but always managed to have a lovely garden. It’s not as difficult as we think it is.

Perfect timing. I'd visit several garden nurseries and centres as there'll be a wide choice. Lots of leaf mould and shaded in summer.

not if it's hot summer sun . Think of woodlands.

look for a Hellebore called lividus which comes from Mallorca and will take sun. There's a greeny-white one and a pinky-purple one. They're not so very showy, but the marbled leaves are rather dramatic.
