Has anyone ever turned their decking over? Does it work? I made the mistake of painting it and it’s horrible now. All peeling and coming off. So I wondered if it is possible to turn the planks over. Will it cause issues with the fit of it? Thanks

Sand it down and use some frenchic alfresco paint on it - it cures to a really hard finish, fine for walking on! It’s quite expensive for a tin, but goes on really well and doesn’t use a lot, plus there are loads of colours and it’s self levelling so will help hide some of the lumps and bumps

We did that also, my husband had the pain staiking job of using paint stripper and elbow grease sanding to get it off eventually it came off then he just put linseed oil on it

Some decking is double sided (the other side has more finer groove lines) so if that’s what you have then yes you can flip them over. But if the other side is smooth, then I wouldn’t recommend it as it would be slippery as hell.

I tryed to turn them but couldn't get the screws out then damaged boards ripping them up. So new deck and creasote. Never paint again.!

Why not rub down and repaint and seal the finish? Just an idea, others might know if this would work

We flipped ours . or rather my husband did. Some nails were a bit hard to come out but it was a lot cheaper than replacing them. I **think** there is something to spray on the stubborn nails that makes them loosen up easier

Solution is to use an electric sander to remove peeling paint, brush down well, and use a stain treatment, which is absorbed into the wood and prevents slipping.

Or you could add some fake grass and nail down to the decking, I know someone whos done it and looks nice x

Thanks everyone, I’ve tried to turn the boards but I could only get one up. The nails were stuck and I rounded a few  so failed lol I’m just deciding what to do. I mm thinking to replace but it is expensive to do so ‍♀️
