Using phrase match for one word won't do anything for you. It takes more than one word to make a phrase.

But broad match will also consider the synonym of that word right? Phrase match won't affect the synonym right?

@fredericfrederica I do not think synonyms are included considering often they won't count plurals.

@penicillin a single word phrase match will capture queries with additional words on the front or back of that word. Phrase negatives are a go to.

@penicillin broad will tie to synonyms and such just like a regular broad match. Phrase is more specific and will catch searches containing your single word phrase.

@luedtke42 Unlike broad match keywords, negative broad match type do not include close variants or synonyms. So, for any variation of your broad match negative keyword, your ad will still be triggered. In such a case, you must add the close variant also as negative keyword separately.
