Not sure if I want to even risk anymore $ in “learning” different ways to market, google Ads being one. So how would I find a Marketing company who has existing clients selling the same products as my company? We’ve had some bad experiences already from company’s who has zero experience in our industry. Thanks. Delete if it allowed.

Hi Chris. I don’t think they need experience in your niche. They just need to be good at what they do. Is it shopping ads you’re pushing? What is your product? Do you have a link to the landing page? You may get some valuable feedback that way.

As others have mentioned, you don't really want to pick someone who is managing your competitor's campaigns. That's a little like two competing football teams having the same coach. Too much conflict of interest. Strength comes from skills with Ads, not so much particular market knowledge.

I'll qualify that by adding that if they are managing similar businesses, but in other locations to you, that's not so much an issue & can be advantageous

@taunton21531 Underwood how can you say being knowledgable in a market is less important than being good with Ad skills? Did you really just say that ? I dont know 1 marketer in this world whos name worth mentioning that would utter that.

@illustrious of course. I'd pick someone with capable skills in Google ads and educate them on my market. Better that than have someone who knows market, but doesn't know Ads very well. I know my market, they know Ads.

It's a data game. Test, run the numbers and optimise. You'll learn the market from an objective view while everyone is using anecdotes and evidence. Just pick a KPI and hammer at it by testing things.

Hi @Chris. As others said, you don't really need anyone with experience in your niche. Can you please send me more details to see if I can be useful getting results you're after. Thank you.

Google shopping is the way to go. It’s more a question of whether the agency has ecommerce experience than has worked in your particular niche. Note: the effectiveness of a marketing campaign is going to depend on a lot of factors. If your products are priced too high, are commonly available, has out of whack shipping costs, etc, etc even the best shopping ads aren’t going to move your product.

@sanjiv You’re welcome. I launched my first ecomm site in 2003 and used adwords to generate sales. We have a handful of ecomm clients that we do very well with.

I would suggest getting audits from a number of companies. Detailed strategies of what they are going to do. If anyone promises a specific ROAS, they are probably BSing. An expert would be able to see where the holes are, where to improve ROAS, feed optimization, tracking, etc.
