Let say I have a company called "abcdef". For a long time we have been bidding on +abc +def. Would I dare to pause this campaign and trust that my +abcdef keyword will capture the searches that the +abc +def was triggered by?

Test it out?

Given the search volume for the brand you might only have to wait a day or two to see if you are still getting impressions and clicks.

So just activate the second keyword, while you keep the original setting active. If you see that the second version is getting impressions you can slowly turn off the first one.

You can test it by creating a different campaign with a really small amount of money from the original one. If you notice that this is a good campaign with good keywords, you can then pause the first one and insert the money to the second one. This way the transmission will go smoothly.
