Hi guys, I'm a private Mental Health practitioner and I'm looking for ways to market to people who can afford to pay for private therapy, so not to people on benefits or looking for free advice (they have access to government-funded therapy). I understand it is in the 'audience' section but as UK doesn't have the budget option, I'm still worried it's not enough for my ad not to be shown to people who can't afford it. Any advice?

Have you tried making it clear you only offer a paid service in the ad text? I know it will not fully reduce the wastage - it will eliminate a lot of clicks though.

So I included the fee, but I'm not sure it's helping as one client filled in the form and then said she was looking for a free therapy. Currently the keywords are set to the most rigid option so I'm not getting many clicks anyway.

You can use better audience segments if you retargeting people on Facebook. Your type of service will generate some leads that are not what you want - my own paid media marketing generates me 1 in 7 leads that I actually want to work with. The benefits of the 1 outweigh the wastage in the 7.

I'd go the same route as @spiral28 suggested. Make it super clear in the ad copy that this is a premium service (might as well point out the rate etc. ). I have had similar problems and this does eliminate bulk of unqualified leads.

I think, because it's 3 headlines you can add, google simply doesn't show the fee headline

@guillemot82839 did you put the "premium" part in the third headline? This one isn't shown on every impression as it depends on the device. I suggest you experiment with the ad copy and see what drives the best results.

@guillemot82839 you should be using price extensions and structured snippets for the price. There are a few ways to try and help cut waste with the headlines and ad content but you will still always get some people that just don’t read it. I’m happy to have a chat with you to see if I can help to structure the ads etc better for you

Oracle Cloud Data can provide you with that custom audience. That’s what I would do because audience and ad have to match to get a good quality score and your cpc in a reasonable range. Apart from that an ad copy that explains the not-free part and an optimisation goal like target cpc with a broad audience to let Google optimise your audience.

@andorra that sounds complicated

Do you do this for a living?

@guillemot82839 yes, I do but it isn’t complicated. Just a lot of fancy words. Basically your issue is putting the right ads in front of the right people. You can pay a lot to buy the right people or let Google do the job for you. In any case you pay.

@andorra hmm :)

@acetamide no I was unlucky in that they are very inexperienced

Yes but nothing you can’t learn. The difficulty here is to knowing the audience and understanding What attracts them. The rest is purely technical nature

Try Facebook. It’s cheaper and good at getting the fence sitters .

@fenske11973 for therapy?
by (1.3k points)
@guillemot82839 yep! I’ve worked in MH marketing for over 20 years & FB is a highly relatable platform for reaching the “walking wounded” - people with insurance with less than clinical MH issues who may need help with grief, anger, relationships, loneliness, depression & sadness, stress, etc.
by (440 points)
@fenske11973 I don't work with insurances x
by (1.3k points)
@guillemot82839 no worries! It’s whether the therapist takes insurance clients or not . I’m not familiar with that process in the UK but I do know FB generates leads here in the US for MH providers, whether respondents are insured or are self-pay . but whatever! If it’s not for you, it’s not for you! Best wishes!

Quick question, if someone is looking for "free" is it just the initial consultation they want for free to check you out? I know 2 psychotherapists and both offer initial free consultations
