Hi Everyone, I first wanted to thank those of you that responded to my question yesterday. I was hoping that someone today could confirm my logic in how I set up my campaign and let me know if I’m correct. Here we go: We have two storage unit facilities just short of three miles apart. I am running 1 campaign that targets a radius of 2 miles around the address of each facility. I am starting with manual CPC (enhanced to optimize for conversions). I have three ad groups: 1. ) general storage with keywords focused on amenities and broad search terms; 2. ) Facility 1 with keywords focused on location and “near me” keywords 3. ) Facility 2 with keywords focused on that specific location and the same “near me” keywords as Facility 1. If I am within a 2-mile radius of Facility 1 and search for storage near me, I should be served the ads created under the Facility 1 Ad group, assuming my budget limit is not met and all other things are done correctly. Is my logic correct?

Hi Amanda. My recommendation would be to use zip codes instead of radius. Do this for all local businesses and life will be better. The reporting within the location tab will be more precise. And with your clients you can target more accurately and prevent possible overlap (if so desired). Just my two cents. Cheers

Thanks, Adam. I'm assuming the only place I can do this is at the campaign level, correct? And I leave as one campaign with one ad group broken out the way I described?

@amendment Correct, the change to the targeting by zip code would be on the campaign level. Keep each one of the three adgroups you have currently. And keep Enhanced CPC.

@amendment Sorry, but my advice is NOT to keep enhanced CPC! when you don't have conversion tracking setup! and some historical data.

@raynell9 We do have conversion tracking set up and some historical data but the account was organized differently.

I don't think (if you campaign is targeting USA AND high populated area) that ZIP codes are better than a radius. I would work with radius, instead of ZIP codes

Thank you. This makes sense. Our facilities are in highly populated areas within the city of Chicago. Based on buyer behavior, we've learned that individuals will gravitate toward facilities within a certain mile radius of our facility, but I was concerned that the way I set up the account, the ads wouldn't be served the way I envisioned. Good to know I set the campaign up correctly.

@amendment My advice is to test. (Don't trust me  ) Just test ZIP codes vs radius. There is no way to test it at the same time, but test it for some period

@raynell9 thanks! Will do

@amendment I wish you success with your campaign. You have the correct way of thinking. You will succeed!
