Conversion tracking question: I noticed when setting up “Calls From Website” tracking—where someone clicks on the ad, goes to the site and Google changes the number to a Google forwarding number so it can be tracked—you can choose to set the tag up manually, or use the GTM method where you just put in the Conversion ID and the Conversion Label and you’re done. When you set up manually you put in the Current phone number as it appears on the website, so that Google knows which phone number to change. When you do the Google conversion tracking through GTM, it just asks for conversion ID and conversion label, no phone number. So if you are doing it through GTM conversion tracking, how would it know what number to replace?
