The owner of that specific video on youtube are able to retarget you on facebook. You can donit theough a pixelme account by linking your videos + fb pixel to that account.

If I had to guess randomly, it could be: 1. Your web extensions that have access to your browser history sending that info to FB 2. Device proximity with web browser-sync on the phone. 3. Voice recognition. Of course, FB & IG is listening in your phone, whoever thinks that conspiracy theory hasn't been paying any attention to the ads they get.

Sounds like the video has a pixel installed

@penicillin but how can you install a youtube video with a Facebook pixel?
by (29.2k points)
@maure40 That's just a guess my friend. I don't handle tracking here. I can ask once everybody is up and at them this morning.

You must have FB pixel installed on your website. Here is a video I found that should explain you how to do it:

If you watched the youtube video on youtube AND didn't clicked to his link then there is absolutely no way to retarget you.
by (29.2k points)
That's not true. I have watched many review videos on YouTube and the next day was bombarded with ads on FB for those same products.

I am talking about retargeting. The ads you saw may be in close proximity or whatever. In order for the advertiser to retarget your from youtube to facebook is for them to have added a facebook pixel in the youtube video page. This is impossible. Google would never allow any pixel from their #1 competitor.

You can retarget users that viewed your youtube videos in Google ads. Just browse the audiences to find it. Not sure on fb.
