If you are looking for an agency to run your PPC activity, what would be an optimal way of task assignment and what should the agency be responsible for? Thank you!

To task it give them the basic info first like url, geography, goals etc. get a price then let them set it up and run it with you as the account owner and them as a manager or link it to their MCC account. Hope this helps. Agency is responsible for communication and paying and setting up meetings.

If they know what they are doing this shouldn't be necessary unless the focus is very niche or complicated.

The optimal way, from my personal experience, is that they send you, you approve. Ads for example. When it comes to open new task, you can use tools like Asana with a due date.

"looking for an agency to run your PPC activity" > that's the wrong way to ask, as the landingpages are inherent part of the campaigns, so you must look for an agency who is capable of doing both - run the ppc campaigns AND the cro part. Most agencys aren't.

They will come to you for tasks for you to do. Like, improve your website, improve your site copy. A good account can only exist with a good site.
