This might seem minor, but how do you all prepare food for others in the household that's not following the IPA protocol? I try to meal prep my veggies for the week. I honestly don't want to cook non protocol food because I know I may cheat. Any suggestions how to manage?

My kids and family eat what I eat. But I do add a side of rice or potatoes or noodles for them. But I do not cook separate meals

@rianon same. Unless the kids want spaghetti or I work in the evening. I have a few packs of meat measured out to 8oz stuck in the freezer for those nights.

Best course of action, generally, is to prepare one protein you can all eat and separate sides.

What @corrincorrina said. Same exact menu except I add a starch for the kids(rice, potato or pasta). If I’m making something like egg roll in a bowl we all eat it.

It’s just my husband and myself. I cook protocol dinners. Sometimes he eats it and sometimes he doesn’t. He’s good about it and never complains.

This is a lifestyle change and you will encounter non-protocol food.

Same meat and veggies you can have for everyone and one extra side fir others. Everyone benefits from healthy eating.

I too will add a starch or dessert but not be a short order cook. Been using the air fryer often & sometimes making fries in there for my husband

I am fortunate my husband loves veggies. I do the same, add a starchy side for him. He takes frozen dinners for lunch so he can get his fix of junk food then.

I'll just cook them whatever sometimes. It sucks, but I just tell myself how unhealthy and fattening it is and what's wrong with the food. It helps me a lot since I'm gaining knowledge of foods. Also I think about how that 5 min of eating happiness turns into a day or 2 of feeling down about eating it. Just stick to it, you can do it!

My husband eats what I eat and I supplement his with rice, pasta, or potato and he gets desserts!

In all honesty I'm in the same boat for a different reason. I've found that since our state set the quarantine and I've cooked everyday more than one meal, I've fallen out of protocol because when I'm done cooking for my family their food I'm too tired to cook/prep my food
by (14.7k points)
@pickerelweed Cook one meal for everyone. You are part of the family, not the cook, and you deserve a meal too. Don’t let this be an excuse to take you off plan!

I don't. they either eat what I eat or make themselves something. I'm not a short order cook.

I recently started giving them at least three times a week the meals prepared from the cookbook to my family! The only thing I haven’t mastered is the baking of the bread. Tonight they’re going to have the cauliflower pork fried rice and some other dishes Trust me once I started doing this my stress level went down a little bit

@bendwise . and, I encouraged them to eat whatever they wanted. No one in my orbit is unable to shop and cook‼️

While these are all great suggestions, I have little ones who are unable to cook for themselves. It's hard enough getting them to eat vegetables without all the doctoring up. But its worth a try. Thanks
