Good morning! I had my weigh in yesterday after one week of doing this program I am down in BMI and down 5.2 lbs but my body fat went up .1 and my muscle went down .1 and I didn't really do anything wrong is this normal for the first week?

I lost muscle at different times for 7 months doing IP. I was always worried each week on what I could change to get the scale to move faster. Congratulations on getting through week one.

Thank you so much. I was wondering if it was because I didn't work out but they told me first two weeks not to really because the body had to adjust. I was doing things 2-3 times week

I decided to do IP because the doctor who told me about it said I didn’t have to exercise. I walk my dog each day but that is the only thing I was doing. I had a 6 month period recently I lost focus and I’m back doing IPA to get back to the range I want to be in. I do plan on working on some type of exercise plan when I finish to see if it helps to maintain this second time.

Those machines show lean body mass. We always assume that's just muscle but it also includes bone and water weight. At the beginning of this WOE you lose a LOT of water and that shows up as lean mass (or muscle) loss. I had the same thing happen to me but further investigation and questioning gave me the answer.

Were you dehydrated? My coach explained that dehydration makes the lean muscle mass seem like it wrong down. Also feces shows up as fat, so if you haven't gone properly in a while, it'll read as fat.
