Can someone help/ advise me? I’m on my 5-6 th day and believe I’m in ketosis or getting there. Problem is- I’m not feeling well. I’m light headed when I stand up. This worries me more than normal because I’m visiting my mother. She’d be quite upset if I were to pass out. I’ve done so in the past- only twice in the past 4 years. Also, I have an 8 hour drive to make on Tuesday and it would make me uncomfortable if I’m not feeling better. Any help us greatly appreciated. T I A!

Take a swig of pickle juice for the short term!
by (14.7k points)
@fango I always forget to suggest that because I dislike pickles. Though I resorted to that a few months ago when I had an agonizing leg cramp and had run out of diet tonic water.

@footrope it’s been my savior for leg cramps. I bought two gallons from Amazon! Better than draining my pickle jars.

@fango They also have pickle juice popsicles you may enjoy.

Are you getting your salt in?
by (360 points)
@makepeace I have been using sea salt. I’ve just started adding some to my water too. That was something they had suggested when I was in IP and this happened

BCAA's are really good as well. they give you the electrolytes that your body needs when you drink to much water, as you flush a lot of them out.

@isopleth what’s a BCAA?
by (14.7k points)
@ambrosio151 Branch Chain Amino Acids. It has electrolytes and is used most often to support muscle for those who exercise. IP has them though alternatives are far more cost effective. There is a file about them with some brand info.

@footrope thank you

Yes the TruMe BCAA's with electrolytes. Natural with stevia, no artificial colors or stimulants. Buy them direct in USA at https://trumewellness.store or in canada at https://trumewellness.ca

Increase more than 1/4 tsp. Add In 1-2 servings of Powerade Zero to up your electrolytes. Are you spacing your protein packets/meat out not more than 5 hours in between (though 4 is better).
by (360 points)
@footrope ok on the electrolytes. I believe I am. And I’m definitely getting enough food. And taking supplements.
by (14.7k points)
The lightheadedness is typically a sign your electrolytes are out of balance. Why do you think they are fine? Or are you saying ok you will add the Powerade?
by (360 points)
@footrope I’ve been drinking a lot of water, adding the IP flavor packs in lemon. Now adding salt. I will definitely go get the Gatorade zero though
by (14.7k points)
@ambrosio151 Look for Powerade Zero. It has 0 carbs. Some of the Gatorades have carbs.

I did that too. If you are taking any meds be mindful my coach had me cut my bp in half and my doctor approved as well. Good luck
