I am writing you experienced moms for advice! I have a very active almost 17 month old. I am looking for an outdoor toy for my boy. I am a first time mom, and I don’t really know what I’m looking for. What did you all find to be good outdoor toys for this age? Any info/experience would be greatly appreciated! Photos of awesome toys are definitely welcomed

At this age I loved a trampoline in my yard for my active son. water table was super fun but the trampoline got out a ton of energy. let me see if I can find the one we had.

Water table, bubble machine, the little tikes sports stuff is good too, like the tee ball set and the basketball hoop. ride on toys, or the radio flyer tricycle with the push handle is good, they start being able to ride that sooner than you'd think.

If you want it faster, look for used plastic outdoor climbing toys on FB Marketplace. Easy to clean and sanitize and they are only good for a short time. We have bought Water Tables, climbing structures, pools, etc. Little Tikes, Step 2 make good ones. Add some plastic animals, beach set with watering can for stretching water table and pool activities.

Craigs List is also a good source for these. We found a bunch nearby, clean & in great condition, when we moved from our townhouse to a house with a yard. Many had been kept in grandparents' basements so got little use & had little weather wear.

I have a 17 month old as well. Her favorite things so far have been a small slide which she already climbs up on herself, bubbles (she chases them around the yard), a water table and this popper. She runs around on the deck with it.

A water table! My LO loves them and we tried a few and this one is the one that lasted long and did not break or cause frustration. He is now 5 and still plays with it!
