Hi, this is regarding the state fair project for my fourth grader. I am running out of info from google. I am sure if the school was there my kid would have learned about Montana from something other than google. My kiddo has to do 30 slides and one topic is repeated four times basically four same slides. Is there any other way to help him? Or the only google can save me? Its so boring to gather info from google lol. Looking for inputs from moms and teachers of fourth graders.

Non teacher, non 4th grade mom. Does your library have online non-fiction resources that could help you?

4H is kind of like scouting but with a focus on nature and farming. They have added robotics and more modern educational resources. 4H has a lot of state fair competitions. There might be guidebooks and resources online that can can help your child.

No teacher/4th grade mom also but there should be some websites/LMC resources they can use. If teacher didn't make suggestions, email teacher.

There are 9 national parks in Montana. Have him do one slide on each park and he's almost a third of the way done.

Also try looking up Tourist Info for the State, usually nice pictures to add to the slides.

Montana?!?! I grew up going to a family cabin there! Maybe talk about the university, they are famous for their cherries and huckleberries, does he have the info on the Lady on the Rock, info on Glacier National Park, the legend of the Flathead lake sea monster, there are several celebrities that own homes there. You’ve probably already checked out the state website and some of the city websites.

My kid is doing Colorado. I have been reading travel sites and googling myself to help him know what to do and see there. I also helped with famous people by reading ahead online. Pretty much all mine needs is an idea of what to look for. Wikipedia had lots of hyperlinked information as well.

TumbleBooks has non fiction books so he may be able to find resources there or find an ebook from the library Pebblego is an online encyclopedia that the my kids have access to off their google classroom sites so that would be a good resource too
