@matz0 or. while we figure out the virus a bit more and put plans in place to safeguard our community. he asking us to do our part to keep our neighbors safe. I’m hopeful that we can work together as a nation and equip our hospitals and workers with what they need. End goal clearly is to re-open in the smartest way we can. I would imagine it will be in steps.
by (6k points)
@manila10 I agree. @matz0 and people like him are being selfish. No regard for what’s good for society, just worried about what’s good for him!
by (3k points)
Is anyone questioning why it was okay for his wife to fly to FL but the rest of us can’t go anywhere?
by (3k points)
If the virus was as bad as they say, wouldn’t he demand she stay home too?
by (200 points)
The guy is a billionaire. If his wife and kids want to spend their quarantine time in another one of his houses why does that hurt your feelings?
by (3.2k points)
@jahnke I agree with you. And those selfish people are called sociopaths. and there are a lot of them!
by (940 points)
@manila10 someone with common sense

@matz0 go join the protesters and hide behind your guns
by (1.7k points)
Because that worked out so well with Rauner.
by (730 points)
@meant if you sheeple would quit watching the msm and looked at hard numbers you would see that the last 15-20 studies ( not guesses and maybes ) showed that this virus is at worst , a bad flu season and at best , an extremely light flu season . I golfed all weekend and sat in at least 3 restaurants. have fun staring at each other

@matz0 you’re an idiot
by (2.6k points)
@seton you are not stopped from flying. My friends are flying out to see me.
by (2.6k points)
@toluidine2 Tracey just so you know my neighborhood people and kids are all out. Spaced yes but skateboards, scooters, bikes, etc. Why in the world would a garage sale be bad if you wore a mask and sanitized your hands? That is going to be your only way to keep yourself safe as we all start going out more. If you haven't learned how to be safe when out the you need to stay home. Life is not going back to how it was. It's going forward.
by (1.1k points)
@matz0 So you think this is just the flu, do ya? K, big guy - howsabout you lick the doorknobs and door handles in every nursing home and LT care facility within a 20 mile radius and report back to us in 3 weeks. If you're still alive. K? We'll wait
by (730 points)
@lathery80 I know you’re old and afraid but if you’re that scared , stay home and hide . I will not .
by (1.1k points)
@matz0 sooo. I take it that's a "no"? Are you ascared to take the doorknob/handle licking challenge? Hmmm? But, but, but. it's just the flu, right?
by (730 points)
@lathery80 ascared ? . educated too, I see
by (170 points)
@matz0 would you be able to cite those 15-20 studies? I’m a physician and am not aware of any specific evidence-based peer-reviewed studies that conclude that covid is a “light flu season”, let alone 15-20 of them.
by (1.1k points)
@matz0 why won't you take the challenge? You said it's just the flu. What's licking a few thousand doorknobs and doorhandles, right? They're just nursing homes and LT care facilities. Whadaya, ascared? Chicken? No b*lls?
by (730 points)
@location can’t be very good . try starting with the NEJM . then check state level health organizations .
by (170 points)
I’m familiar with the journals. Please cite the specific articles you seem to know so well.
by (740 points)
@matz0 “can’t be very good”? Alan, you act like you know so much, but yet instead of sharing the specific information, you throw back immature and unkind responses. Dr Sayla was respectful with her question. You made a statement, and couldn’t back it up. SHE is a doctor. Perhaps she may understand the situation more than most of us. What exactly do you hope to gain with your combative responses? I can’t imagine anyone could take you seriously, so you aren’t doing anything positive. Our country is currently working to find answers so that we can all get back to life. The way you have been posting, it would seem as if you have no concern for anyone outside yourself. It is fine for you to have an opinion. But at the end of the day, I would hope that you would listen to the doctors and nurses in our own community to hear what THEY are witnessing. Do they have the supplies they need? Do they think we are testing enough? Any word on when tests for antibodies might be more readily available and more reliable? These are the questions that need to be answered and addressed before we change our behaviors. We all have a choice. We can be part of the solution and be respectful of our neighbors. Or, we can be complete asshats and choose to be selfish and cocky in the face of a Virus that has brought most of the world to its knees. I really, really hope you are right. Because if you are wrong, people like yourself will be the cause of a more serious outcome than was necessary.
by (210 points)
@matz0, stop whining.
by (1.3k points)
@lathery80 you can’t catch a virus.
by (1.1k points)
@dependent Dunno where you get your facts from but for the sake of discussion, let's say you're correct (which you're clearly not), can you explain - to the 2. 5 MILLION people worldwide sick and dying from the virus, and to the families of the 170, 000 people who've died - HOW they "caught" a deadly virus you insist can't be transmitted? Go ahead, I'll wait.
by (1.1k points)
Dr Sayla, Don't hold your breath. @matz0 will never be able to cite those specific "studies" as he refers to them because, as you well know - they don't exist. He just let his hummingbird ass overload his alligator mouth. Something I'm guessing he does rather frequently. Thank you for your tenacity tho

@lathery80 fake media reports
by (740 points)
@dependent I worry for our country that grown humans can go through life knowing so little. ‍♀️ please, please expand your sources of information. It’s tiring and disappointing to see remarks like yours. The virus is real. It is serious. We all have to work together to keep our neighbors safe until the medical and science community learn more about how to deal with it. I’m sorry that your “sources” of information have served you so poorly that you are arguing that you can’t catch a virus.
by (1.1k points)
@dependent You still haven't answered my question. How can people be sick and dying, or dead, from a virus you insist can't be transmitted?
by (5.5k points)
@matz0. ASCARED when you are very afraid and scared - combination of afraid and scared I Yes, it 's a word. Now move on with your 'it;s all about me' attitude and don't expect a bed in the hospital.

@matz0 it's okay. I like snow!
by (1.1k points)
@matz0 will you man up and take the challenge? Mr It's Just The Flu? Hmmm? And the good doctor is still waiting for you to cite your "studies" proving it's "just the flu. " Tick tock.
by (870 points)
@seton you can book a domestic flight and travel. Who is stopping you?
by (870 points)
@shaum6 you mean Ruiner.
by (3.2k points)
@lathery80 I think @matz0 just needs to sterilize his insides by drinking some bleach or something.

Keep in mind the governor cannot cannot cannot close your business he does not make laws and zero constitutional authority. Should the legislature pass such a law its still unconstitutional. We the people are both agreeable and reasonable and of course want to do the right thing. The original intent was not to overload hospitals done! Should a business say you need one shoe two shoes or no shoes to enter that is their choice and THEY can limit your accessibility. If you are afraid or have a compromised person in your life stay home and quarantine yourself for as long as you care too. Have respect for people that need to pay the bills, get Healthcare and feed themselves. If they choose to open their business fantastic let them. How easy was it for the government to take this much control this fast. At a minimum realize by the people for the people is our freedom if we can keep it.
by (180 points)
@behlau Oh it has definitely flattened, that doesn't mean it is flat (we are looking to flatten exponential growth). The models issued towards the end of April did call for a peak in mid-May, looks like that might be about right (I was skeptical).
by (910 points)
@bubal10 use common sense ! People like you are the problem .
by (2.6k points)
@barreto so long as hospitals have capacity the curve is where it needs to be.
by (180 points)
@charlyncharm I supposed although prolonging it gives us more time to both learn about the virus and potential treatments like remdesivir, etc and potentially save more lives.
by (6.1k points)
@anuradhapura88 open up your mind and realize people have a tendency to push what the believe. What about. Guys what about to folks with prostate cancer waiting for surgeries. How about 2nd and 3rd world countries that started doing a much better job feeding themselves and reducing diseases like malaria. These countries will not be able to sell their goods to us and how many incalculable deaths will their be? How about the heart attacks strokes and people not getting diagnosed right now? VIRUS? Look at all the collateral damage and then mix in the economy. We are losing our rights and have been for many years. No pink hats folks man up and get our country back. Likely 99 percent of the people arm chair quarterback in stay quarantined have significant savings or on government assistance of some type and are able to maintain.
by (6.1k points)
Really? How many patience at McCormick place. How many false and paid for diagnosis, wildy incorrect models, exaggerations and sadly tens of thousands of deaths related to collateral damage because your scared. Thank God the founders didn't wear pink hats and were frightened. Having the Government steal our rights and bastardize the constitution for a bad flu with 99 percent recovery shows you and your ilk are clearly are the problem. I am sure you have the bills paid and income while you sit in the ivory tower becoming a Facebook MSNBC troll of sorts spreading propaganda like the sheeple in the 30s for the Nazis. Don't feel bad you don't know what you don't know and easier to stick with brainwashed decisions. Stay in your house and protect the folks that are most susceptible in the meantime let the true patriots get our country back so you can sit on your liberal ass and expertly judge. Good morning!

I don’t see why not. As long as masks and gloves are required. And if it gets too crowded, make a line to get in. If it works for the stores, why not garage sales. (If you have one, send me the info please).
by (1.7k points)
@munsey45390 it's not essential business. A garage sale or house party at this point is just blatant ignorance.
by (2.4k points)
@shaum6 a party is not the same as a garage sale.
by (1.7k points)
@munsey45390 it's a gathering of more than 10 in a small space if it's worth your time to set up for it.
by (2.4k points)
@shaum6 no guarantee of that

Garage sales are a pain to host, and I feel like you would have very little in terms of customers. Probably wouldn't be worth it, regardless of the legality of it.
by (6.1k points)
If you have the sale post it and i will be glad to come.

Seems that would put YOU at risk with different people touching things. You'd have to disinfect everything they touched or offer gloves that they could dispose of in a trash bin after. You'd have to wear gloves to handle money. You'd need to consider giving the unmasked a mask to wear too, then have to wash between customers. Sounds like more of a hassle right now than it's worth. Maybe try Naperville Garage Sale online for pictures, stats. People come and look (don't touch) unless buying. One at a time and you both keep your distance.

I would post pictures online, and do a front porch pick up. I think it's the safest way to do it.
