Question

How is the current meat supply at Costco? Are they running low on chicken, beef, and/or ground turkey? Heading there this morning.

Yesterday afternoon they had ham, fish, some turkey breast and bison, chicken wings. No chicken breast or thighs and no ground beef.

I was there yesterday, not purchasing those items, but noticed some lower quantities, though still had some of each. I thought maybe they just don't put all at once.

I was there yesterday looking for frozen chicken breasts and they didn’t have any. The fresh meat case in the back was pretty low, I saw ground turkey but not a lot, there was plenty of fish. It’s definitely very low. Oh and in the frozen chicken/ meat case there’s a sign that says one frozen meat per person. I went to Jewel after Costco and they had chicken breasts

I was at Mariano's on Friday and it was FULL of EVERYTHING.

Every time we go, they are out of the organic chicken breast and thighs and ground beef. I’ve been ordering through ButcherBox as a replacement. Working really well. Also, Jewel has had ample supply of organically every time I’m there.

The only thing hard to find was chicken. We found some at marianos & Trader Joe’s though!

Bolingbrook Costco yesterday had quite a bit of meat. Not sure specifically what they had or didn’t have though. You could call first and ask?

I know you didn’t ask this but I was at Mariano’s last night and they had plenty of meat selection. I think Costco gets low first since that’s where people go to stock up

I was there on Saturday, early morning. Meat selection seemed fine from a distance, but people were swarming the butchers as they were putting out the meat.

@yoo7313 people aren’t necessarily hoarding it, especially bc most places have limits on quantity you can purchase. There is less meat available right now.

I normally get my meats from Costco but have honestly gone to Mariano's since quarantine since it's a one stop shop for me. This meat situation has never been an issue there whenever I've gone there. They're always stocked with all kinds. Costco has currently lost my business for now simply because I don't need bulk for everything and I don't want to go to multiple stores to get what I need.

Where else you guys buy meat from? Cause meat and paper towels are the only things that I used to buy at Costco and now my membership is totally pointless so I’m looking to switch to some other store where I’d be getting high quality meat from (oh, and the quality is another thing why I’m looking for something else).
