Question

Moms, I need some help. My 5th grade daughter is struggling a bit with math. My husband tries to help, but by the end they are both frustrated with eachother. We think finding a tutor to come by for 1 or 2 nights a week would help. Do you know of any high school students, college students or a tutor that is reasonably priced that could help us out?

Blah math lol. What are they learning now a days in fifth grade lol. I tutor an 8th grader and he’s learning stuff I learned like sophomore year in high school. Crqzy.

Alive Center does free tutoring! The have three locations so you would need to check what days the location nearest to you does. I know in South Naperville it is on Friday.

I was in the same place a few months ago. We started going to Mathnasium in Bolingbrook. It’s been an amazing experience. My daughter went from down trodden to confidence. We are doing the program pay monthly and you can go an hour a day up to 5 days a week. We tend to go 3-4 days a week.

I’m a private tutor. Illinois certified teacher. MS in 2000 from IU. I usually meet students at the Nicols Library downtown. I live in Naperville and teach part time at COD. I work with all grades and all levels, even adults working on GRE/ GED/ licensing exams.

Have you looked into team tutors? They are free tutors, that have sessions out of the 95th Street library. Great kids!
