Other than going outside in our neighborhood and to the nature preserves, where are some other places to take my 2. 5 year old? We are getting cabin fever and bored of the same old stuff every day

Leave Illinois. That’s what a lot of people are going to do May 23 onward.

@charnel7925 either pack a pull up or side of road, there’s plenty of countryside ! But, they do have one of those longer portable outdoor toilets, through we didn’t use it my kids made it there and back

How about a road trip to Michael Jordan's house or the house home alone was filmed?

Have you been to Delnor woods? I know you said other than nature preserves, but this one is our fave so far bc of all the creeks to play in! My kids started fishing right around that age and there’s a ton of fishing ponds around! We also color pictures and write letters to Neighbor’s and “deliver the mail”. There’s a zoo in Belvidere that is doing a drive thru for $20 this weekend

Easton preserve in Plainfield has a nice trail too. My kids loved the volleyball area and we went and played in the Sand for a good hour!

@livvie4945 I used to live by Easton Preserves. Unfortunately, the raccoons and every stray cat love the volley ball sand too. I stopped letting mine play in there when I realized that. ‍♀️

Oh, yes-Exactly why I don’t have a sand pit in my backyard LOL! We are big nature go-ers and campers-I don’t leave the house without a change of clothes per person and sanitizer/soap etc!

@livvie4945 where my letters?
by (6.7k points)
Sorry I was running around earlier. This is waterfall and you can follow the water all the way at the bottom to the right to get to creek

Take the trail up past this, and you will run into more creeks and side trails
