Question

Anyone know what the chopper is doing over downtown? I thought maybe they were grabbing some river footage (flooding) but the chopper has been here for a long time now and the river is not that bad.

The pulse point app says two water rescues in different locations near or in downtown in the last hour

There are lots of sirens with it. I wonder if someone may have fallen in?

They have been circling for quite some time. At first I thought the hospital.

I just saw the Lisle Woodridge Water Rescue team go by on Washington with the motor raft.

This is what I get from Naper Notify Naperville Fire Dept conducted 2 water rescues today on the DuPage River. Due to recent rainfall, the river water levels are high and the water is moving swiftly making passage and maneuverability in the water more difficult. Citizens should stay off the DuPage River during this high water period. During normal water levels, extreme caution and vigilance should be exhibited. The FD recommends not going on the river until the water recedes.

We live on the river (south of downtown) and it is still rising, with a quick current. I’d go ahead and skip trying to use the bike path, if any of it is still even passable.
