We had some water in the basement last night. Think we may have a gutter issue as the window well filled and the gutter above it was overflowing. Any advice on guards for the gutters or someone who may be able to fix our gutter arrangement? Also any advice for wet drywall is welcome. This is our first home.

We went with oversized gutters and that helped. And they don’t look weird on the house.

We had our gutters cleaned today. Could they be clogged?

@jory73 there is that possibility but even right after we got the gutters cleaned we have had a problem with overflowing in that particular spot.

You need to get fans down there. The more and the stronger the better. If it stays moist you will get mold.

@iso525 yes thank you! We are gonna have my dad come look at it today and he’s going to pick up some fans for us. My husband works all day and we have a 2 month old so it’s impossible to get out!

@iso525 that sounds horrible! We got lucky and it stayed on the tile part of our basement and not the carpet but I think we may be replacing drywall and possibly the wood on the window of the well.
