I messaged them (DuPage county) last week and they said “expect a positive message early next week” which would be any time now

I would like to know this as well. My pup has stored up energy that needs to be released!

I just sent a message to the Will County Forest Preserve asking if theirs would be opening May 29. We shall see.

@essay46 so I’m guessing you don’t take your dog?

@sethsethi I do once in awhile but I have had my fair share of run ins with ignorant owners and unruly dogs. We’d rather go into the woods

Its a small percentage but it’s enough

@essay46 we go for our dog to socialize with other dogs, not to just go for a walk through a forest. ‍♀️ He gets plenty of walks daily. We had one issue in two years with biting. But that could happen walking your dog in a neighborhood. Humping will also happen when dogs are puppies or simply to let out energy/stress. We’ve never had an owner (nor have we) just stood by to let the dog hump. Either way it looks like this post is irrelevant to you then. Carry on!

I saw a horrible incident once. An aggressive dog, unsupervised picked up a little dog with its mouth and began to violently shake the poor thing left and right. The owner of the little dog began to scream asking her boyfriend to help her pup as she was terrified. Without thinking, I went after the big dog and he dropped the little guy and ran. Big dog owner came to see what was going on and I (normally very non confrontational but I was livid! ) let the woman have it. I told her until she has her dog trained to stay away from the dog park. The little dog was fine but had some small bleeding. I told them to report it. Gave them my name and number. The Will County Forest preserve did call me for a witness statement. Gave me a number to call if I saw that woman in the park again which I have not. The county was great trying to follow up on it. People need to supervise their dogs at all times.

I messaged on the Dupage Forest preserve FB page. They said to expect an announcement this week. I’m hoping they open at the end of the week. My pup is not the same without our mornings at Greene Valley
