Hi ladies!  My husband and I are entertaining the idea of adopting a golden retriever.Hi ladies! My husband and I are entertaining the idea of adopting a golden retriever. Do any of you have a local breeder that you’d recommend? We are open to shelters/rescues as well, but we are fairly set on breed/wanting a puppy! Thanks in advance!

There are so many amazing rescues with retrievers. You should totally make it a goal to meet a few rescues before you look at pups ❤

If you go to AKC website they have list of reputable breeders!

AKC does not list reputable breeders. They list breeders that pay a fee to be AKC which doesn't make them reputable.

Go to petfinder. com and you can search rescues by breed! Please consider adopting over shopping . You can also reach out to a rescue group (rescue warriors Corp is one I know does this) and they will work with you to find exactly what you want!

Hi Maceyen rescues - including Sophie ( our lab/German shepherd ) that just recently passed away at 15 1/2! The only dog we had a problem with ( and 2 my sister had problems with) were actually purebreds from a breeder ‍♀️ Just my opinion sweetie! Goldens are wonderful and you can definitely still find a puppy. all of ours were

On Facebook you can find tatteredpaws. com . They bring Goldens over from Turkey. I guess people get them for their summer vacations and when they go home they abandon them, so sad.
