So I'm stress eating, think I've gained 5 pounds. Need to STOP. I've heard about beachbody on demand for home workouts but it's like $100. Anyone try it and like it? Other recommendations?

I’ve done Beachbody workouts (and nutrition because you can’t outwork an unfavorable diet ) for 4 years now and became a coach because it changed my life. and i don’t say that lightly. The added support of a community of people following the same workouts, with likeminded goals, doing it TOGETHER is the missing piece many need to succeed. Encouragement, motivation, accountability sharing in success and struggles has been so helpful in my journey! We also do zoom workouts if that would be helpful to you! You can sign up through the site but I’d love to offer you that “missing piece” into our community (along with different options price wise) and support to find a program that fits you best which will make you most successful! Another reason I love it is because there’s programs designed that build on each other (with modifiers and for EVERY fitness level) and takes all the guess work out of what to do next, which is another reason people are more likely to be unsuccessful in their fitness goals. I’m doing a boxing program right now that was filmed all over the US! Makes it a lot more fun to press play!  It also comes with a ton of recipes! Such a great resource that also has a free trial to try it out! Feel free to reach out if you’d find this helpful!

Start getting active. There’s so many ways to do it. Go for daily runs, and try to add as much strength training in as possible. It obvious, but eat less. Make sure that everything you consume is clean, and has a nutritionally valuable purpose. Guaranteed scientifically proven formula to getting fit is, increase activity and decrease caloric consumption. This lifestyle change is the only way to become your best and have long term results. Good luck!

I was surprised how fit I got from home workouts. I weighed 140lbs and fit into the same clothes I did at 115 lbs! They helped me gain so much muscle with just 20 minutes a day! I'm starting back up now after baby #3 I did hard core 22, I liked that it was like gym reps and sets instead of a aerobics routine. Nice thing is that there are so many programs, you can find something you like that fits in your schedule

I’ve been using Beachbody for 6 years. I’ve lost nearly 40 Lbs and kept it all off! I’m in far better shape now than in my 20’s! Feel free to PM me any questions. I’m also a coach but I’m sure you will get a gazillion messages saying the same.

If you think you can or want to try yoga, I am offering ANYONE free yoga and meditation. As a licensed therapist and certified yoga instructor I am learning to use and integrate yoga into the daily lives of both kids and adults. No fees. I really want to help my community during this crisis and while I started the flowers for neighbor program, I also want to be using my skills as a therapist and yoga teacher. Intentional movement is a powerful tool when used properly and mindfully. DM me if interested.

Instead of eating try doing something with your hands like crochet, cross stitch or coloring. It will take your mind off things. Drinking water or crushed ice can curb your appetite. 5 lbs is nothing to beat yourself up about, you are strong, beautiful and it’s perfection! You’ve got this!
by (4.7k points)
@achlamydeous I'll try that too! I've been keto since September so I eat pretty clean, but recently I've been over indulging on "healthy treats" and I'm scared of getting g back into my old binge eating habits. So when I saw the 5 pound increase I'm like NO WAY!
by (1.2k points)
@ribeiro2263 well it’s easy to do especially with everything going on. Just give yourself a break. Take a breath, reset and just start over. It will be ok

Go outside and do two walks a day and aim for 10000 steps each day. If you like to run or bike the weather has been good for that. Or go to the YMCA site (metro location not Fry) and there is a tab “Y to Go” that has various workouts you can follow. You can FaceTime with a friend and do it together. I’ve been doing the Y videos three Saturdays in a row while FT’ing with two neighbors. Helps to workout virtually with them.

I really like beachbody. There is a huge variety of workouts to choose from depending upon your current level. I run religiously, so i'm already in pretty good shape, but i found some super kick ass workouts that even challenged my cardio limits. If yoga or strength training is more in your wheelhouse, then bb has many of those workouts, too. $100 is about what many people pay per month for a gym (or a pair of running shoes! ), so for a year, i thought it was totally worth it.

You really do not have to pay to get some great home workout ideas. Some of my favs and very effective. Instagram: hiitburn, underarmourwomen, womenshealthmag, msjeanettejenkins, madlymish, Tone it up, popsugar, kirastokesfit, Brooke Burke. Also, you can create your own. 5min warmup, then for your workout alternate weights with cardio. 1 min weights, 40 sec cardio. 20 to 30 min total. Legs one day, upper body and abs another day. Weighted squats, lunges, deadlifts, bicep curls, shoulder press, tricep extensions. Cardio can be jacks, squat jump, burpees, mountain climbers etc. Good luck girl! We’re all in this same crazy boat trying to stay fit and healthy! It’s a time to reset and come out stronger and smarter! ❤️

Beachbody is good. You can certainly find a lot of workouts on YouTube- I like boho beautiful yoga for toning/stretching and stress relief. I used to do fitness blender. Also, do you like to do dancing? I've been doing just dance (xbox game) for the past 2 months and dropped 15 lbs. (Along with a ridiculous cutback on carbs, which I have a love/hate relationship with). Also, sugar is the worst. If there is anything to cut back on, it's added sugar.
by (4.7k points)
I lost 75 pounds on the keto diet! Bye carbs! Im scared i'm gonna fall back into old habits of binge eating and boredom snaking, so thats why i'm looking for something to do to stay active. my boyfriend has an xbox. maybe ill try the game too! I suck at dancing but it could be fun!
by (830 points)
@ribeiro2263 congrats on your success of shedding so much weight! If you have xbox kinect, its ideal to use that but you can use your phone too. I'm not that great at dancing but it's a lot of fun especially when you compete with others on the world dance floor.

Also Centr app (Chris Hemsworth app) is offering 6 free weeks (I believe). I just signed up for some extra weight training and yoga & stretching. And I’ve been trying REALLY hard to keep the diet under control while allowing myself one lax day (no “cheat” day or gorge day) just a little lax, which I don’t typically do if I’m in the middle of a challenge. I also have been dragging all four kids and two dogs out everyday for a mile (mentally, painful). Physically just a little extra boost
