I never thought I’d say this but I’m sick of TV and Netflix. I feel like I really need to read a good book! any recommendations for me? I typically I like urban fantasy type stuff, I’ve read the Dresden files books, iron Druid series and the Mercy Thompson werewolf books. I’ve read and enjoyed the winter night trilogy as well as spinning silver and uprooted by Naomi Novak. I’m open to trying other genres too, just looking for that kind of book that you open and cannot put down!

I really love the Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews. It's paranormal romance, but much heavier on the paranormal than the romance. The first book is called Burn for Me. I read all 4 books currently out in the series in less than a week.

I really enjoy A. Lee Martinez’s books for humorous sci-fi/fantasy. Monster, Emperor Mollusk vs the Sinister Brain, and Gil’s All Fright Diner are top picks. @transcaucasia676 Aguirre has a great series, the Sarantha Jax series, and the first one is called Grimspace. Octavia E Butler wrote my fave vampire story called Fledgling. But the book I absolutely have loved more than anything has been The Binding. I didn’t read any reviews or even the book synopsis (doing so suggested by the person who recommended it) and could not put it down. Read it so, so fast.

The Greywalker series is good urban fantasy. The Anita Blake vampire novels are pretty good. Don’t know if you’ve read Charliane Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse books? Either way, her Midnight, Texas trilogy is fantastic and a bit grittier/more depth than the Stackhouse books (which I also loved)

We like the same books! These are for teens, but still a great story and funny. Jonathan Stroud’s Lockwood and Co. series, the first one is The Screaming Staircase. Also Patrick Rothfuss’ The Name of the Wind. Beware that the third and last book is not out yet.

If you don’t mind true stories covering dark subject matter check out “if you tell. ” Omg I could NOT put that book down and I have zero attention span. I think it was even free on Kindle Unlimited. If You Tell is an astonishing story of survival of three sisters who were raised by a sadistic mother, Michelle “Shelly” Knotek. . The riveting true story told by the three sisters who survived their brutal childhood in the tiny coastal logging town of Raymond, Washington, reads like a fast-paced thriller.

Okay, I could not put these down. J. D. Horn - The Witching @pooch/activity" class="qa-user-link">pooch series and then Rysa Walker the Chronos Files series. I think they read slightly geared towards “younger” readers but the @pooch/activity" class="qa-user-link">pooch series I was into the characters and the storyline was awesome and the Chronos Files had a lot of neat history (but not heavy) . very easy fast paced reading. I think I’ll be revisiting these soon myself!

Neverwhere - Neil Gaiman; Anansi Boys - Neil Gaiman; Name of the Wind - Patrick Rothfuss (although I struggle recommending this one, because it's book 1 of what is supposed to be a trilogy, but dude still hasn't finished the 3rd book, and it has been a LONG time); almost anything by Jon Krakauer (non fiction); any of Leigh Bardugo's Grisha series - I started with Six of Crows
