I miss living in @armourer SO much! The food is great, the stores are great, the schools are great and the neighbors are great. We really miss the 4th of July parade!

@wolverhampton1 The BEST parade in the NW burbs!
by (2.2k points)
@waw1508 in ANY burbs! I live in Naperville and I’m like where are the camels and flying carpets?!
by (2.8k points)
@wolverhampton1 I have only seen a handful in the NW burns, but have not doubt you are correct! The @armourer parade is still incredible!

@wolverhampton1 don’t forget the forest preserves
by (2.2k points)
@principal yes!
by (1.9k points)
@wolverhampton1 in my opinion, that’s the best part of Niles, along with the wildlife that lives here among us. Just my personal opinion.
by (2.2k points)
@principal I lived 4 houses down from the forest and I loved seeing all the deer and other wildlife!
by (1.9k points)
@wolverhampton1 @armourer has the largest tracts of open land and woods of any suburb that borders Chicago. More than skokie, evanston, Lincolnwood,

I enjoy the coyote, hawks and foxes. Saves me the trip to the zoo!

@albert and the deer that come out of the forest preserve and much on peoples lawns
by (3.8k points)
I love the deer! We had one during the summer come lay under one of our trees in the yard. I said, "Yay, we have a pet now"
by (3.6k points)
@principal I forgot the deer. I grew up off of Cumberland across from Maryhill cemetery. I still see deer there when I visit my parents.
by (1.9k points)
@albert theres a whole herd there, seen more bucks than does in maryhill

All the services we have in the Village of Niles. Our Public Works, Police and Fire are top notch. When I see what some of the surrounding suburbs are doing, they dont even come close to Niles.
by (5.1k points)
Like what suburbs? I feel all the local suburbs are great and doing their best ‍♂️ They don’t need to brag
by (4k points)
Naming other suburbs wouldn't be proper. Many of them model their operations on what are police, fire , and public works are doing. Training, technology, and forward thinking. All are great in different ways. @armourer is out winning awards for leadership in all different areas. I'm proud to live in such a great village.
by (4k points)
Other towns do alot of great things. As a @armourer resident I feel we are the best.

Before my Mom passed the senior center and the fitness center gave her reason to get up and out everyday. She loved them and she lived to 93 and volunteered at the center until two weeks before she passed. I am very grateful to them.
