We’re on Howard/Waukegan. It was very odd. I filled the tub half way and the water was yellowish/brown. I emptied and refilled again and it was the same. Very odd. The rest of the house was OK. I’ll try again today and see.

@labdanum could be your water heater?

@labdanum it is probably due to the work that’s being done on Howard. Aren’t they putting in new sewers?

Not sure. It’s a brand new unit installed 3 months ago.

@michail I was wondering the same thing but then again, they’ve been working on this for months and never had an issue even when they were working on our block back in the summer.

@labdanum it happened to a friend of mine at Waukegan and Monroe when they were doing the sewers two summers ago. At first it was fine, then the water was discolored.

@michail oh really? I’ll call the village if it doesn’t get better.

I think the big project on Howard is GAS- my nephew works for Peoples Gas and that is their work but Today I saw work on Caldwell- not sure if that is water or gas.

If it was just the tub and the rest of the house was okay, I would think it is within your system and not a village issue or concern to any other homes in area. If it was from the water supply it would affect all of your faucets, not just 1.

@heave makes sense. I’ll test all the faucets and see. Thank you.

@labdanum run water, then run hot water. If it only happens with hot water, then it is a problem with the water heater, even if its on multiple faucets.

@heave I will try that. Thank you
