Salt creek. starts right by zoo. or prairie trail for. older kids. starts here and goes and goes. but takes a while. to stop crossing big road

We did Salt Creek a couple weekends ago and loved it (although it was WAY too busy).

Cal-Sag Trail is an scenic paved biked path along the canal around Palos. It will eventually be 26 miles long. Definitely worth a trip!

Where do you get onto the Prairie Path Bike Trail from Oak Park? I would probably need a place to park/ leave my car while we ride?

Desplains river trail goes forever. You can start in Lake Forest or Independence Grove (Libertyville). It beautiful there

Fox river bike path is THEE BEST. Go thru Batavia to Elgin and you’ll see a windmill, lighthouse, mini train station/museum, and end at Pratt’s castle a mini castle! I recommend starting in Geneva on River Lane you go over the Fox on a beautiful bridge.

@joell24 I grew up in Batavia and I love the Fox River trail. So many great places to stop along the way and very scenic.

Went to salt creek woods last weekend- there was a gravel lot open, look for the Bob Man Glad site on google maps

There is a nice trail in Channahon IL. I don’t know that name of it though.
