So I have a candle obsession because I love for the house to smell nice. but they can get expensive and go pretty quick. Any cheaper alternatives you all use? ** tried Scentsy & Plugins already Scentsy- my cat knocks over the wax or plays with it ‍♀️ Plugins- I don’t feel are strong enough scent to make the house smell good

The Mainstays candles at Walmart actually work great! Also the Better Home and Gardens at Walmart work good too, a little more expensive.

I tried Glade plug-ins but those don’t really work and we’re such a big disappointment. I love Bath and Body Works’ wallflowers and champagne toast scent. Or I’ll run essential oils.

I use essential oils too and I have cats that jump on everything. I'd actually say a diffuser is safer than a candle with cats as long as you are using the right quality oils.

I got a candle warmer. Kind of like a wax warmer but you just set the jar candle on top of it.

I stock up at the BBW sale every December cuz you can stack coupons on top of the 8. 95 price, and I'm WELL stocked for the rest of the year for less than 175
by (310 points)
Oooo I wanna say they do, but the minimum for free shipping is way higher
by (310 points)
@piccoloist84175 haha I wanna say there's some shops in Tokyo that had good prices when I used to visit Japan every year to see family but I don't remember a name, sorry!
by (310 points)
@piccoloist84175 ahh then Im guessing military?
by (310 points)
@piccoloist84175 thank you (or your spouse) for your service! okay I checked on BBW's website, they only ship to North America and Puerto Rico, hmmm maybe essential oils and make some?
by (310 points)
@piccoloist84175 plus with making your own you can dictate how concentrated they are!
by (310 points)
@piccoloist84175 hahaha youtube's a dark hole cuz I end up clicking something COMPLETELY unrelated and then somehow end up watching like a cooking video or a myth busters or how its made haha

Scentsy has scents that aren't wax. They have a portable diffuser which is rechargeable and they just came out with a wall diffuser. The scents pods are just scented beads. That's what I have in my kitchen since my dog is curious. PM me if you want to learn more. I sell Scentsy and that's what I have in my home for the dog and in my classroom of 3, 4 and 5 year olds. Much safer and less mess.

I have a candle obsession. I work at BBW to finance my candle obsession. I also learned to make my own. I bought wax and choose my scents and can get a lot of candles out of a block of wax. The start up isn’t a lot and it’s super relaxing!

I use a candle warmer. It heats the wax so it diffuses the scent, but it doesn’t burn the wick to make the candle last longer.

@piccoloist84175 I got mine at michaels for $5
by (150 points)
@piccoloist84175 definitely! Just search candle warmer. I see several for $8 or so.

You pretty much nixed all my suggestions. Looks like you’re stuck with candles I think glad makes GREAT plug in fragrances (the pumpkin spice/falling leaves! I stock up in the fall) I just got a free wallflower at bath and body, got the champ toast scent bc it’s my fave and if you’re close you can smell butttt not strong enough for home (but I also only have one in a big room. probably need more than 1)

Essential oils are way cheaper and non toxic. Peppermint for example is only 8cents a drop when you break it down and so potent you only need a few drops

I diffuse essential oils. Far less toxic and less expensive

Be careful with essential oils, if you have a cat some are not safe for pets
by (160 points)
@bergquist I was just going to say this! Lemon affected my cat- he started acting real weird and sickly like and I found that info and stopped using it and he went back to normal
